U.S. Senator Katie Britt Statement on Mitch McConnell Stepping Down as GOP Leader

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 28, 2024 – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today released the following statement on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s announcement that he will step down from his leadership position at the end of the year.

His legacy is unparalleled in the Senate’s history and will long outlast his tenure as Leader. He has always been a consummate statesman and stalwart champion of this venerable institution.
