Confirms President Trump’s Secretary of the VA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) released the following statement after the Senate confirmed President Donald Trump’s nominee to serve as Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs. 

“I was proud to vote to confirm Doug Collins, who has selflessly served our country for decades. As an Iraq War veteran, a military chaplain, and a Colonel in the Army Reserve, he understands the needs of our veterans and their families, and he knows how to help—working with Congress and elected leaders on both sides of the aisle to cut red tape.

“I am confident Secretary Collins will do everything in his power to improve the Department of Veterans Affairs to better care for the heroes who have protected America. As a veteran himself, the mission of the VA is personal. He will put our nation’s veterans first. I look forward to working with him to make meaningful changes to support veterans across Alabama and our nation.”
