September 20, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 20, 2024 – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today congratulated 13 Alabama students, whom she nominated, on their acceptance to United States service academies starting this fall semester. The service academies include the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and U.S. Air Force Academy.

“On behalf of the people of Alabama, it was truly an honor to nominate these outstanding young men and women to attend our nation’s prestigious service academies,”said Senator Britt. “I am proud to support some of our state’s best and brightest who have displayed exemplary character, leadership, and academic excellence as they answer the call to serve our United States Armed Forces. I look forward to seeing all that they achieve.”

The following students are attending the U.S. Military Academy:

  • Jordan Wilson—Auburn, Alabama

  • Carson McFadden—Hoover, Alabama

The following students are attending the U.S. Naval Academy:

For consideration for a service academy nomination, applicants must be residents of Alabama and complete the required ACT or SAT exams. They must also provide letters of recommendation, an official school transcript, and a completed application form.

Although Senator Britt nominated these students, the academy to which they received a nomination made the final admission decision.
