U.S. Senator Katie Britt Issues Statement Following University of Alabama Commencement Speaker Announcement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today issued the following statement following the announcement President Donald J. Trump will deliver keynote remarks at the University of Alabama’s 2025 commencement ceremonies:

“I’m thrilled President Trump will deliver the keynote address at the University of Alabama’s commencement ceremonies this year. It is a tremendous honor for the university and for this year’s graduating class to welcome a sitting President to campus—a first in the nearly 200-year history of the University of Alabama. As an alumna, I am especially proud to see my alma mater chosen for such a historic occasion.  

“President Trump will make this milestone weekend in Tuscaloosa even more memorable for graduates and their families. Alabamians across our great state look forward to welcoming the 47th President to campus as we celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of the Class of 2025.”
