Reaffirms invitation to visit the Yellowhammer State as FBI Director

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, today voted in support of Kash Patel’s nomination to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and favorably report his nomination to the full Senate.

“Kash Patel is ready to return the FBI’s focus to protecting the American people from terrorists, hostile foreign actors, and violent criminals. As the Director of the FBI, he will end weaponization at the agency to ensure the days of targeting Americans for their political beliefs are over,” said Senator Britt. “I was proud to vote in favor of Kash Patel today in the Senate Judiciary Committee because he will put American national security first and help make America safe again. I look forward to voting for him again on the Senate floor and urge his swift confirmation.”

“Once confirmed as FBI Director, I look forward to welcoming Kash Patel to Alabama. He already knows the incredible value Redstone Arsenal brings to American national security, and I cannot wait for him to meet some of the Alabamians who put in the work day-in and day-out to protect our homeland,” continued Senator Britt.

During Kash Patel’s hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Britt highlighted his commitment to making America safe and secure again. She said, “I have heard you say . . . your duty is to protect American citizens, that you will work to uphold the Constitution. I have heard you say you’re going to get back to making sure you focus on violent crime . . . You said you were going to have the backs, as you always have, of law enforcement . . . You said you know and you will not allow there to be victims of government overreach because it has happened to you.”

During the hearing, Senator Britt also emphasized Alabama’s role—especially through Redstone Arsenal—in keeping America safe. After which, she received Patel’s commitment to visit the state and work to maintain a robust FBI presence in Huntsville. He said, “Senator, you have that commitment. And this is a great example, real quick, of the FBI’s capabilities and infrastructure systems around the country that already exist to the tune of billions. And not only is it, I believe, a 38,000-acre sprawling campus . . . but 4,000 seats remain open. So, let’s go to work. I’ll come to Alabama. Let’s fill those seats.”
