U.S. Senator Katie Britt: Kelly Loeffler Will be a Fierce Advocate for Main Street Small Businesses as SBA Administrator
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today spoke at the Senate Committee on Small Business Hearing to introduce President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Small Business Administration (SBA), former U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler.
“Kelly is the perfect choice to lead the SBA . . . 99.4% of the businesses in the great state of Alabama are small . . . I’m also the daughter of two small business owners. I have seen the struggles of my parents firsthand. You’ve seen that when people get in these rooms in D.C. and create big, burdensome regulations. The truth is, they hit the little guy the hardest, and you get it. You’ve lived it, and you’re ready to fight for these individuals. You’re ready to fight for the American Dream. You have a proven track record of delivering efficiency, accountability, and results driven leadership. And [you want] to empower every entrepreneur with the resources and support they need to pursue what they believe they can.”
Senator Britt praised Senator Loeffler’s life story as a prolific job creator, an entrepreneur, and a quintessential American success story.
“Kelly grew up on a family farm, became the first in her family to earn a college degree, and worked her way up to the highest levels of business. She joined Intercontinental Exchange when it had under 100 employees, and then spent nearly 20 years building it into a global powerhouse and a Fortune 500 company.”
In advance of the hearing, Senator Britt had the opportunity to sit down with Senator Loeffler to discuss the challenges small businesses across our nation face and how she will be a fierce advocate for Main Street job creation while cutting senseless red tape to unleash American ingenuity again.
“I have absolute confidence in Kelly’s ability to strengthen our Main Streets, to figure out how we get capital to underserved communities, to figure out how we roll back red tape and let people do what they do best, [as] job creators soar and achieve their American Dream. Helping our small businesses thrive like never before is what I am confident she will do.”
