Confirms President Trump’s Nominee for Secretary of Transportation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) released the following statement after voting to confirm former-U.S. Representative Sean Duffy to be President Trump’s Secretary of Transportation. Duffy’s nomination was confirmed by a vote of 77-22.

“President Trump is committed to ensuring America’s economy gets back on track, which necessitates updating aging, crumbling infrastructure for safer, more efficient travel. Sean Duffy is ready to implement that agenda as Secretary of Transportation. Sean championed strategic infrastructure during his five terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, and he has a track-record of success in delivering for the American people with commonsense solutions. 

“I was proud to support Sean Duffy as our next Secretary of Transportation because I firmly believe he will ensure Alabama and America’s infrastructure—air, land, and sea—is modernized to support America’s families, farmers, small businesses, and industry. He will be a tremendous partner working with Congress to fix America’s broken permitting system and shifting away from the Biden-Harris Administration’s radical Green New Deal policies that derail so many projects.”
