Votes to confirm President Trump’s Energy Secretary

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) released the following statement after voting to confirm Chris Wright as Secretary of Energy. Wright’s nomination was confirmed by a vote of 59-38.

“I was proud to vote to confirm Chris Wright as President Trump’s Energy Secretary. As a proven leader in energy innovation, Secretary Wright brings decades of experience to the Department that will help him skillfully implement President Trump’s all-of-the-above, America First energy agenda. This will fuel America’s economy, lower costs for families, create good-paying jobs, and strengthen our national security. I was excited to hear Secretary Wright’s plans for the Department of Energy when I met with him, and I am confident he will be a champion for President Trump’s vision to unleash the full potential of domestic energy production—enabling not just America’s energy independence but energy dominance.”
