U.S. Senator Katie Britt Statement on SCOTUS Presidential Immunity Ruling

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 1, 2024 — U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) released the following statement in reaction to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity.

“Today’s decision by the Supreme Court helps to ensure that the leader of the free world can effectively execute the duties of their office without fear of retribution from political prosecutions, particularly as it relates to a President’s core constitutional powers and other official acts. The Court’s decision upholds and protects America’s foundational system of separated powers and checks and balances,” said Sen. Britt. “Democrats’ continued partisan campaign to delegitimize the Supreme Court is dangerous, irresponsible, and undermines our constitutional republic.”
