U.S. Senator Katie Britt Supports President Trump’s Attorney General Nominee, Pam Bondi, in First Judiciary Vote
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today voted in support of President Donald Trump’s nominee for Attorney General, Pam Bondi. This was Senator Britt’s first vote as a member of the Judiciary Committee.
“Pam Bondi is exactly who America needs leading the Department of Justice,” said Senator Britt. “She is committed to the rule of law and to returning blind justice to a department that has too often weaponized its power in recent years. I am confident Pam will make America safer by restoring law and order, getting fentanyl off our streets, and implementing Donald Trump’s agenda to Make America Safe Again.”
Pam Bondi’s nomination passed the Senate Judiciary Committee on a vote of 12-10 with all Republicans supporting the president’s nominee.
“I was proud my first vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee was for Pam Bondi. I have complete faith in her ability to lead the DOJ with integrity. Now let’s get her quickly confirmed, so Pam can get to work immediately,” continued Senator Britt.
During Pam Bondi’s nomination hearing on January 15, Senator Britt praised the nominee’s decades of experience as a tough-on-crime prosecutor and her track record of success from her time serving as Florida’s Attorney General.
The Senator also met with Bondi in advance of the Judiciary Committee’s consideration of her nomination. Following their meeting, she said, “Our next Attorney General, Pam Bondi, has a vision to restore blind justice to the DOJ & rid it of politicization. I enjoyed hearing about her plans to help combat the fentanyl crisis and crack down on violent crime. I look forward to working together to protect Alabama families.”
