U.S. Senator Katie Britt: USTR Jamieson Greer Will Enact an America First Trade Policy
Votes to confirm President Trump’s U.S. Trade Representative
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today voted in favor of Jamieson Greer to serve as President Trump’s U.S. Trade Representative (USTR). The nomination was confirmed by a vote of 56-43.
“I was proud to join my colleagues today in confirming another member of President Trump’s team, his U.S. Trade Representative. Jamieson Greer is a vital part of President Trump’s America First trade policy agenda. Through his past experiences, especially as chief of staff to former-USTR Robert Lighthizer, he understands firsthand how critical this role is to protecting America’s economic and national security interests,”said Senator Britt.
“I’m especially grateful for his commitment to support our hardworking farmers and manufacturers and grow economic opportunity for all hardworking Americans,” she continued. “As USTR, Greer will hold foreign entities accountable for harmful trade practices, prioritize fair market access, advocate for our nation’s industries, and ultimately usher in a new era of American prosperity. I look forward to partnering with him to safeguard American workers.”
